Welcome to Heythrop Zoological Gardens

Heythrop Zoo is set at a private location in the beautiful Cotswolds. We are only open by appointment only. We are not open to the public like a normal zoo. Our mission is to educate on animal welfare and behaviour, advance animal training standards worldwide and inspire the next generation to be the guardians of the wonderful animals and nature on our planet. As we are not open to the general public on a day-to-day basis, we are able to offer you exclusive and unforgettable animal experiences by appointment only.

Exclusive Visits

Experience a guided visit around our premises with one of our experienced trainers - hear about our animals, their film work and their history.

Animal Encounters

Experience a close encounter with your favourite exotic animals. Take the wolves for a woodland walk, feed a tiger, hang with our kangaroos - and more.

Adopt an Animal

We believe in inspiring the next generation to keep our planet and it’s wonderful creatures safe. Adopt an animal today to inspire your loved ones.

Utterly magical experience. This was the most perfect birthday gift and I am already recommending it to every animal lover I know; the animals are all so healthy and happy, clearly very well cared for.

COVID-19: Information for Visitors

Information for Visitors

Safety procedures are in place to protect you, our staff and our animals. Due to our zoo not being open to the public, we have limited visitors and guests, and can therefore reassure you that strict hygiene, health and safety measures are in place to comply with government guidelines - this may change depending on government guidelines.

Facemasks/Face Shields are optional for all Encounters. You are more than welcome to bring your own if you wish to wear a mask. Your handler may or may not wear a mask for the encounters, but will wear one if you would like them to .

OTHER WAYS HOW TO SUPPORT HEYTHROP ZOO:

Amazon Wish List – We have put together a wish list that will benefit our animals and their keepers. Every item gifted to us is very much appreciated until we can continue to bring in the funds we need to maintain the health and wellbeing of our animals. A huge thank you for all your generosity and support so far. We can get through this with your help. If you would like to purchase any items, please go to https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1H6D8DRSZDI8A?ref_=wl_share

Donate on GoFundMe – We have set up a GoFundMe page. We have never received or expected grants and rarely take donations. We are not a charity but have provided services to charitable causes throughout our existence, including regular visits to care homes, hospitals and hospices. The zoo also provides educational services to schools and colleges. Any donation to our fund, no matter how small, will make a difference and will be hugely appreciated: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/heythrop-zoological-gardens-support-fund
